Features and Benefits

Ease of use - One coat is enough, saving labor, solvent usage and adhesive inventory costs. Applicability - It can be bonded to a variety of elastomers and metals, plastics and fibers, and can be used in a wide range of applications. Environmental Resistance - Provides good resistance to heat, salt spray oil, chemicals, solvents and other environments. Process Compatibility - Adaptable to various process conditions, including long pre-bake.
Easy coating - The coating method is simple, brush, dipping, and spraying are all available.

Instructions

Stirring - In order to make the active ingredients of Chemlok 6150 in a uniform state, it must be thoroughly stirred before use; it should also be properly stirred during use. Application - Can be applied by brush, dip, or spray. The required range of coating film thickness (dry film) is 17.8- 30.5 μm (0.7-1.2mil), and the best performance can be exerted in this range. When used as a double coat, a dry film thickness of 15.2- 20.3 μm (0.6-0.8 mil) is recommended over primer. Chemlok 6150 can be diluted according to the coating method. After dilution, the adhesive is easy to precipitate, please pay more attention to stirring evenly. Drying/Vulcanization - Air dry at room temperature for 20-40 minutes. Preheating metal parts or drying after coating can reduce drying time. Metal parts can be preheated to a maximum of 65°C before applying the adhesive. After coating, it can be moderately heated and dried. If the temperature is as high as 149°C, it can only be used for a short time. Use lower temperatures and higher air circulation for best drying results.
Chemlok6150 coating film is non-sticky after drying, and the coated objects can be stacked in the tray for subsequent processing. Clean gloves should be worn when handling coated objects, and a cover should be added to the tray to prevent contamination. The storage time of coated parts is shortened when the humidity is high. Chemlok6150 and rubber will also harden during the molding process. When demolding immediately after molding, please pay attention not to put additional load on the bonding interface as much as possible. Curing takes place simultaneously with the curing of the rubber.

SURFACE PREPARATION - Thoroughly clean metal surfaces before applying adhesive. Use a solvent-based degreaser or alkaline cleaner to degrease metal surfaces. Choose the appropriate chemical cleaning or mechanical cleaning method to remove the rust spots, oxide layer or oxide film on the metal surface.

  • chemical cleaning

The chemical treatment process can be adjusted at any time for automated metal treatment and color coating lines. Chemical treatments can also be used on metal parts that would be deformed by blasting or where very tight dimensional tolerances are required. Phosphating is a common treatment method for steel, while aluminum is usually treated with a chemical film.

  • mechanical cleaning

Sandblasting is the most common method of mechanical cleaning. In addition, mechanical cleaning methods include steel brush cleaning, grinding or machining. Use steel grit to blast clean steel, cast iron or other ferrous metals. Stainless steel, aluminum, brass, zinc and other non-ferrous metals are treated with aluminum oxide, sand or other non-ferrous metal grit.

Expiry date/storage

The shelf life is one year after shipment from the production factory, stored in the unopened original packaging in a ventilated environment at 21-27°C. Do not store or use near heat, sparks or open flames.
